'L' in Wreath.

This badge was worn by Gun Layers of the Artillery. The Gun Layer was responsible for aiming. Gun laying invloved moving the axis of the bore in two planes, horizontal and vertical. A gun is traversed in order to align it to the target, and elevated in order to range it to the target.

These badges have been copied from an original and are made of thread embroidered to a khaki wool backing.
