The water bottle carrier underwent seven changes during its service life. The sixth pattern was introduced in February 1914 and used until the seventh pattern was adopted in June 1921. This pattern does not have the vertical securing strap that allowed the water bottle to be secured to the haversack. The bottle securing strap is secured with a press stud at the front of the carrier. Does not include water bottle.
