Introduced in March 1913 these pistol cases were originally intended for use by Pipers and Rangetakers only. During the First World War however, they were used by drivers, machine gunners and many other soldiers not issued a rifle. Similiar to the Mk.II and III Land Service pistol cases introduced in 1896 and 1898 respectively, these cases differ in having two brass hooks at the back, in lieu of a leather loop, for attaching to the webbing belt.

Made from the high quality leather with new made brass fittings these cases are made to an original pattern. The leather has been left raw. Several different leather dressings and dyes can be applied to the leather to attain various finishes from light to dark brown and black.
