These boots have been copied from period examples. They are made from a natural leather and will darken naturally. They can also be stained a dark brown or black should you so wish. They are sold complete with a pair of leather laces.

Australian boots from the First World War while not hobnailed, did have small rectangular nails on the sole and heel of the boot. These nails were intended to reduce the wear of the leather of the soles. Our reproductions are not nailed. It was decided that due to the danger these can pose to the wearer on asphalt and other smooth surfaces, and also the damage they cause to wooden surfaces that they would not be fitted.
