Breech covers were introduced during the First World War to keep mud and dust from the action of the rifle. The cover completely encloses the action closing by three brass press studs. A leather thong on the cover attaches to the wire loop in front of the magazine on the rifle holding the cover when not enclosing the action.

These reproduction breech covers are made of a heavy canvas. The brass snaps are high quality brass.
