Canadian No.32 Mk.IA Scope (316C) Canadian No.32 Mk.IA Scope (316C) Canadian No.32 Mk.IA Scope (316C) Canadian No.32 Mk.IA Scope (316C)

Made in 1943 by Research Enterprises Limited, this No.32 Mk.IA is in excellent condition. Originally a No.32 Mk.I it was subsequently converted to a Mk.IA. The scope has very minor wear to the blueing of the tube and to the paint on the drums. The markings are clear on all parts. The lenses are wonderfully clear with some dust on the reticule.

Production of the No.4 Mk.I (T) was also undertaken by the Canadian small arms factory Longbranch during the Second World War. By December 1945 Longbranch had produced some 1,141 sniper's rifles. This relatively small total was due to the inability of the scope manufacturer Research Enterptises Limited to provide sufficient scopes for greater production. Canadian REL scopes are far rarer than British scopes and as a result are highly sought after by collectors.
