Introduced in the 1950s the Star Model IR was an improved Model I featuring thumb rest grips and a slab-sided barrel. The Model I was introduced prior to the Second World War as a police pistol however, the calibre was possibly too small and the barrel too long as the model was soon augmented by the Model HN. Production ceased in 1941 but resumed shortly after the Second World War.
This pistol is in very good condition with minimal wear to the blueing and only minor marks to the plastic grips. The barrel is also excellent, and appears to have seen very little use.
