Australian WW2 Pistol Lanyard

Pistol lanyards, worn around the neck and looped onto the lanyard ring of service pistols, were intended to prevent the loss of a sidearm if it was dropped during battle. These lanyards are made of green cord and have two knots, one fixed and one sliding, the sliding knot adjusting the loop worn around the neck.

These lanyards were made in Australia during the Second World War. Held in store for many years they are in unissued condition.
