Although replaced by webbing versions, the short puttees continued to be used by Australian soldiers until late in the war. These were a shortened version of the earlier puttees being 1/3 (3 feet) in length. They were worn wrapped from the upper boot around the ankle, the tape securing the anklet.
These anklets were made by Australian contractors during the Second World War. Held in store for many years they are in unissued conditon. They are sold in pairs.
