Believed to have been adopted in 1916 these wire cutters were used by Commonwealth armies until well into the 1990s. An Australian made pair, dated 1991, has been noted.

These examples were made in Australia during the Second World War by Sunshine. Although dirty, the wire cutters are in excellent condition and appear never to have been issued.
