German WW2 Ammunition Pouch

Worn in pairs on the waist belt, the ammunition pouch has two belt loops and a rectangular loop to which the Y straps were attached. Each pouch was designed to hold two chargers (each of five rounds) of ammunition, the chargers being divided by a leather strap within the pouch.

These pouches were sent to Yugoslavia as part of war reperations following the Second World War. Held in storage there for many years, most appear to have seen very little use and are in excellent condition. Many have had the ammunition dividers with the pouch removed as was commonly done in the field.
