East German Border Guard General's Parade Cap

This Border Guard General's parade cap is made of the standard grey material used for all officer's caps. Like all Border Guard's caps it has green piping around the crown and a green hat band. It is distinguished from other Border Guard officer's caps by gold hat cords instead of the standard silver and gold badge on a wool backing.

Although East German uniforms and equipment were relatively common in the 1990s in recent years they have been becoming rarer. General's uniforms have never been particularly common however, and this cap is an oustanding collectors piece.
