This classic seaman's knife is made using the highest quality stainless steel and is housed within a custom leather sheath.
J. Adams Ltd has been making high quality knives for six generations. They are the parent company for three other old established Sheffield knife makers, F.E & J.R.Hopkinson Ltd, established 14 June 1944, John Nowill & Sons Ltd, whose corporate name was granted by the Cutlers Company of Hallamshire on 27 April 1700 A.D. and Austin McGillivray & Co.
Sheffield was already noted for its knife production in the 14th century, as mentioned in Geoffrey Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales. By the early 17th Century it had become the main centre of cutlery manufacture in England outside of London, overseen by the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire. During the 19th century, Sheffield gained an international reputation for its steel production. Many innovations were developed locally, including crucible and stainless steel.
Sheffield knives are renowned for their high quality and durability.
