The rounded shape of the Sugar Loaf Helm caused sword blows to skate off the top, so the wearer had to absorb less of the force of the blow. This was a distinct improvement over earlier flat-topped great helms. Hand forged from four pieces of 16 gauge steel. Adjustable leather liner.
