Windlass American Civil War Swords
Windlass Steelcrafts has been manufacturing high quality weapons and handicrafts since its inception in 1943. Its founder, Mr. V. P. Windlass set up a manufacturing plant to supply British Gurkha regiments with Kukris, their famous sidearm. Through some key partnerships, Windlass Steelcrafts started exporting to United States and Western Europe in 1979 and since then, have outfitted many armies of the world, provided props to some of the largest Hollywood productions, designed and manufactured some amazing licensed replicas for many top collectible companies and have continued to create products that are both fully functional weapons and works of art.
These fine reproduction swords are faithful copies of those used by the United States and Confederate Army and Navy during the Civil War. Made with excellent attention to detail, the hand forged blades are a tempered high carbon steel. The handles are wire wrapped leather, and the scabbards are made of leather, steel and brass. Despite their affordable price, these swords are an excellent, high quality reproduction.
