British Maltby No.4 Mk.I .303 Rifle (F1944)
Availability: Out of stock
This is an original 1942 (early war) made Maltby, No.4 Mk.I rifle. The stylised Maltby's "M" can be seen on the left hand side of the butt socket. The finish and makings are original and is matching serial numbered. The rough external finish peculiar to rifles of this period. The parts are blued rather than painted, a finish adopted later in the war. The woodwork is beech, and like the metal parts has a rougher finish than that normally found on British rifles.
Like many rifles of this period, there were many war time expediences. This particular rifle has not had the worm wheel cut on the safety lever, and hence the safety lock is missing. The 2 groove barrel is in excellent condition
