Details

The Case, Sighting Telescope, No.8 was introduced to carry the No.32 Telescopic Sight. Two styles of these cases were made, the earlier with an oblong shape with rounded corners, was an intricate pressing of five parts, the later featured squared corners and was of a cheaper folded and welded design. A brass insert, to which the telscopic sight bracket was screwed, was fitted to the inside of both designs.

Made by Belling & Co., this case is marked 'CASE, STG. TEL. No.8, B & Co 1941'. Beneath this, stencilled in white paint, is the rifle serial number 'RIFLE AN7***'.

The case is in good condition and retains much of its original dark green paint, although this has worn in areas. The metal is pitted in those areas where the paint has worn.
