This pattern of bandoleer was introduced in 1905, an earlier pattern having a more elaborate buckle, and was used by all services until the adoption of the 90 round bandoleer. Following the adoption of the 90 round pattern, the 50 round pattern continued to be worn by some services, and was used during both the First and Second World Wars.

Introduced shortly after the Boer War, the Bandoleer Equipment, Pattern 1903 was used by a number of services until the end of the Second World War, despite being made obsolete by the Web Equipment, Pattern 1908, shortly after its introduction.

This pattern of bandoleer was introduced in 1905, an earlier pattern having a more elaborate buckle, and was used by all services until the adoption of the 90 round bandoleer. This reproduction bandoleer is made from high quality, drum dyed, full grain leather. The buckles and studs are solid brass. The rivets are tin plated copper.
