Approved in July 1916 the wounded stripe was worn by officers and men wounded after the 4th August 1914. The wounded stripe was worn on the lower left arm. Multiple awards were worn with a 1/2 inch space between each badge. For more information regarding eligibility for the wounded stripe, as well as its position on the jacket, please see our blog.

Originally stripes of gold Russia No.1 braid two inches in length were sewn to the service dress. By late war however, the stripes were being made in brass.
