Details

Australia adopted two patterns of breeches in 1912. One had been developed for mounted troops and the other for dismounted.

The mounted pattern breeches were made of a heavy Bedford cord fabric in a colour to match the jacket. It had two front pockets, reinforced inside leg, and a lower leg that laced down the outside seam from the knee to just below the calf. The outside seams of these breeches were ballooned, the extra material allowing free movement of the legs, while the material below the knee was fixed by the lacing.

These reproductions, like originals, are made of a khaki green bedford cord material. The buttons are of pressed metal. They have been reproduced as closely as possible to originals.

These breeches, like originals, are designed to be worn on the natural waist. This is much higher than it is fashionable to wear trousers today. When measuring your waist please ensure that you measure your natural waist. Please see the size guide above for further information.
