Details

The falchion was a weapon used in battle more than many realize. A heavy, single edged weapon designed for heavy chopping, it has a history that stretches back to the Bronze Age. During the Renaissance its form became a little more elaborate, but its functionality remained the same. This was a sword designed to oppose the combinations of plate and mail that were popular. The blade could shear mail with ease, and dent or crush lighter weight plate.
