Originally introduced for use with the various sub-machine guns in service during the Second World War, these slings, being longer than the standard rifle sling, allowed the sling to be utilised when an SMG was being fired from the hip. They are 55" in length.
These slings were made by Australian contractors in the 1950s. They are unissued and in excellent condition.
