Details

These bayonets were made by Colt in the United States (Hartford, Conn.) in the early 1970s as part of a contract for the Malaysian army. The bayonets and their scabbards appear never to have been used and show no signs of wear. They are marked with the Colt (prancing horse) logo and patent number (62316).

The M7 bayonet was the first bayonet adopted for use with the M16 rifle. While the blade varies little from the earlier bayonets adopted by the United States, the muzzle ring is far larger and the bayonet catch changed from that used on the M5.
