This sword, apart from its distinctive naval motifs, very closely resembles the Foot, and Staff and Field Officer's swords of 1850. It has a brass hilt with brown leather grip, bound with brass wire. The tempered high carbon steel blade is acid etched. The scabbard is black leather with brass fittings.

This sword very closely resembles the Foot, and Staff and Field Officer's swords of 1850. The most notable difference is the dolphins head on the quillion finial at the tip of the upper guard. The sword has other distinct naval motifs. It has a brass hilt with brown leather grip, bound with brass wire. The tempered high carbon steel blade is acid etched. The scabbard is black leather with brass fittings.
These fine reproduction swords are faithful copies of those used by the United States and Confederate Army and Navy during the Civil War. Made with excellent attention to detail, the hand forged blades are a tempered high carbon steel. The handles are wire wrapped leather, and the scabbards are made of leather, steel and brass. Despite their affordable price, these swords are an excellent, high quality reproduction.
