This bandoleer was used by Australian Light Horse in both the First and Second World Wars. It is cut on a curve in order to fit closely to the wearers shoulder, and has five pockets riveted to the front with another four riveted to the back. Each pocket is designed to carry 10 rounds in two chargers. A small strap is fitted inside each pocket to secure the front charger after the rear one has been removed.

Introduced shortly after the Boer War, the Bandoleer Equipment, Pattern 1903 was used by a number of services until the end of the Second World War, despite being made obsolete by the Web Equipment, Pattern 1908, shortly after its introduction.

This bandoleer was used by Australian Light Horse in both the First and Second World Wars. It is cut on a curve in order to fit closely to the wearers shoulder, and has five pockets riveted to the front with another four riveted to the back. Each pocket is designed to carry 10 rounds in two chargers. A small strap is fitted inside each pocket to secure the front charger after the rear one has been removed.

We offer this bandoleer in both a standard (S) and a large (L) size. The standard size is the same as originals. The large has had an additional 5.1cm (2") in length added at the shoulder, and at the end of either strap, giving a total addition of 15.2cm (6") in length. The large size is recommended for those with a chest measurement of more than 117cm (46").

This reproduction bandoleer is made from high quality, drum dyed, full grain leather. The buckles and studs are solid brass. The rivets are tin plated copper.
