Details

Due the huge demand for soldiers equipment at the outset of WWI, like many countries, substitutes were manufactured. In 1914 the British adopted a set of equipment made from leather, canvas and webbing. This was based on the 1908 webbing pattern. This became known as the pattern 1914 equipment.
