French Binoculars WWI (British marked.)

Availability: In stock

AUD$185.00

These Galilean binoculars are in fair condition. Optically, good, but externally, they need some help.

They are in their original leather case, and the case is clearly marked with the Paris manufacturer. On the front of the case, at the bottom is the British broad arrow mark.

It is hard to date these binoculars, but due to very high demand during the early stages of WWI, it is fair to suggest that they were purchased by the British government for issue, probably during 1914/15.
